To become Miss America, a candidate must first enter and win a local competition, and then compete to represent her state—a process requiring hard work and personal commitment. As a state titleholder, a contestant may only compete once at the national Miss America Competition.
For the Miss Program You Must:

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the first day of the State Competition in which she competes. (July 6, 2025)

Must not be older than twenty-seven (27) years of age as of the first day of the State Competition in which she competes. (July 6, 2025)

Be a United States citizen.

Residency
Must fulfill one of the following:-
Must reside in the local area of competition (Grays Harbor Country).

Be enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university in the local area of competition (Grays Harbor County).

Be employed on a full-time basis in the local area in which she intends to compete (Grays Harbor County).

Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.

Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete.

Candidates must meet all additional requirements pursuant to the Miss America State and Local Application & Agreement:

The Miss America’s Teen Organization hosts a national competition intended to encourage and reward the talent, communication skills, community service, and academic achievement of girls between 14 and 18 years of age.
To become Miss America’s Teen, a contestant must first compete to represent her state, a process requiring personal commitment, hard work and talent. To compete in the Miss America’s Teen program, you need commitment, perseverance, talent and ambition.
To compete in the Teen Program you must:

Must be at least fourteen (14) years on the first day of the State Competition in which she competes (June 29, 2025).

Must be no older than eighteen (18) years of age as of the first day of the State Competition in which she could compete (June 29, 2025).

Be a United States citizen.

Residency
Must fulfill one of the following:-
Must reside in the local area of competition (Grays Harbor County).

Be enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public or private school, or home schooled within the local area of competition (Grays Harbor County).

Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America’s Teen Organization.

Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.

Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition.
